About Us

"So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit." -Ephesians 2:19-22
WELCOME

Faith Bible Church, Orthodox Presbyterian is a reformed, confessional, Presbyterian church.  The congregation is part of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church which began in 1937.  We are one of twenty-one churches in the Presbytery of New Jersey.  We believe the Bible to be the inerrant, infallible and inspired Word of God.  It is the only rule of faith and obedience.  As a confessional church we hold to the doctrines of the Protestant Reformation as encapsulated in our secondary standards the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Westminster Larger and Shorter Catechisms.  We believe that Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, according to the Bible as the final authority and all for the glory of God alone.

What is an Orthodox Presbyterian Church?

Perhaps you may have heard each of the words before: Church, Presbyterian - even Orthodox. But what do we mean by putting them together? What is an "Orthodox Presbyterian Church"?

"Orthodox" is an old word that means straight teaching. As Orthodox Presbyterians, we believe what the Bible teaches - that God the Father gave up His Son Jesus Christ to death on a cross to pay the price for the sins of His people. We also seek to follow what the Bible commands. The Orthodox Presbyterian Church tries to live consistently with the principles of Christianity and to share with others the Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ. (Taken from Christ Proclaims a Better Way)

Redeemer OPC started as a mission work in Toms River, NJ in 1996 and became a particular congregation in 2000.  The congregation then met in Seaside Heights, NJ until Hurricane Sandy in 2012 made the meeting place unusable.

Faith Bible Independent Presbyterian began in 1954 after leaving the PCUSA.  At that time the name of the congregation was the Presbyterian Church of West Mantoloking.  In 1955 the congregation became a part of the Bible Presbyterian denomination.  The congregation withdrew from that denomination in 1956 after a division in the BP denomination and remained independent until the two congregations merged in 2013.
