God Sent His Son

“But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, ‘Abba! Father!” So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.”Galatians 4:4-7

On this Christmas Day we remember why Jesus Christ was sent by the Father into the world. We were slaves to sin and Christ came to set us free. And not just to set us free, but that we might receive adoption as sons.

To those who are trusting in Christ alone for salvation, you have been adopted into the family of God. There is no greater gift that could be given. To be declared righteous because of the righteousness of Christ.

At just the right time God sent His Son into the world for us. May we rejoice this Christmas in all that we have been given. We enjoy family, friends, and great abundance in our nation. Many things for which we should give thanks. But let us thank God most of all this day for Jesus, in whom and through whom we live and are blessed beyond measure.

Merry Christmas!
